51.  Install the add-a-leaf (or PRG's Deaver springpack upgrade).

52.  Install block with smaller end facing forward.  Install new U-bolts.

First, clamp the springs at the ends (past the thick overload leaf).

Then, use a clamp to sqeeze the overload leaf up to take tension off the guide - so
you're able to remove the allen bolt holding the guide in.

After you have the guide removed, remove the nut for the OEM centering bolt.  Your springs will stay together - they're clamped.

With PRG's Deaver upgrade, I found it easiest to clamp the two larger springs first.  I'm using a centerpunch as a temporary
centering guide, to keep the springs lined up.

It's very important that your clamps be equidistant from the centering hole.  You want to clamp both sides evenly
to keep the centering holes lined up.  Ensure that you can always freely remove/instert the temporary centering guide.

I used 6 clamps while doing the spring upgrade.  The smaller 2.5" clamps are great for holding springs together,
and the larger 4" clamps are great for clamping the springs together against spring tension.

Again, you want to make sure your temporary centering guide is able to move freely while you're clamping.
That indicates your springs are lined up, and your centering bolt will be able to slide in without damage to the threads.

Centering bolt installed:

Cut the extra length off with a die grinder.

Here's another tip - when installing new U-bolts, they might be too spread apart to fit the U-bolt/axle bracket (first picture below).
Zip ties to the rescue once again (second picture below).

As PRG will tell you, ensure you don't catch the ABS line between the axle and the U-bolt.
You can see the ABS line right in front of the axle.
